DRAFT: FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSES

Individuals within our various communities might be sought to act as Community Facilitators/Inter-Community Liaisons to facilitate communication and collaboration within their community and with others.  Activities will be facilitated by e-lists and interactive websites ("wikis").

Responsibilities might include (in no order of precedence):

  • Co-ordinate action within the community pertaining to national initiatives;
  • Organize and conduct community meetings/teleconferences pertaining to national initiatives;
  • Disseminate information received from other communities;
  • Synthesize and relevant information from within the community and share with other communities;
  • Act as a conduit for communication and co-ordination between the formal democratic leadership of the community and other communities;
  • Foster enthusiasm for our national endeavour;
  • Encourage members of the local community to participate in the activities of national communities (including their democratic and SR processes)

A pilot of the above concept is being considered to support the National Identity initiative.  The Task Force is seeking to identify Facilitators within congregations and other communities who will:

  • Share information from the Task Force with the congregation/community regarding the status of the initiative and next steps;
  • Organize and conduct a community meeting/teleconference as appropriate as part of the next stage of the National Identity initiative;
  • Synthesize results and share them with the Task Force;
  • Foster enthusiasm for the National Identity initiative (e.g., through the newsletter, posters, table at Coffee Hour).

I like what you have written for the National Identity 'facilitators' ! Seems right in scale and tone.
